I want to let you know of an important development at Wolper.  And it is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I share this news with you.

As you know, we have been providing award-winning technology and customer service to an expanding base of clients for more than 35 years. We’ve used creativity and agility to provide the highest level of service in the industry.

Recently, following many months of exploration and negotiation, we agreed to merge with LM Information Delivery, one of Europe’s leading subscription and information services providers, because, together, we are stronger and able to deliver more value and opportunities to each of our customer bases.

LM is based in Finland and is considerably larger than Wolper but operates similarly, both in values and in strategy. Both organizations come from family-owned roots and emphasize uncompromising customer servLM logoice and cutting-edge technology as the cornerstone of our value proposition. Both of us, over the past 5 years, have significantly expanded our breadth of services through strategic alliances. Both companies are proud to have both loyal customers and loyal employees – the result of our people-focused, relationship-based cultures.

While Wolper remains a separate U.S. company, headquartered in Easton, PA, we are better positioned to handle the changes and challenges in today’s library and information services environment with LM as our parent company. We have greater resources to use toward further innovation and enhancements in product offerings and maintaining our award-winning* level of customer care.

This transition as LM & Wolper join forces will be (as it has been so far) seamless and invisible to you as a Wolper customer. It is our goal to preserve continuity and quality of service for you as our valued customer. I will continue as President & CEO of Wolper Information Services and the staff here remains the same; likewise, WOLPERweb®, the online management tool you’ve helped us to build and refine, remains firmly in place.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly:

(Your main contacts at Wolper are well informed and able to address these developments with you as well.) I am hoping to be able to see many of you personally during the upcoming conference season. And perhaps I will have the opportunity to introduce to you to LM’s CEO, Janne Järvinen.

Under his direction, LM has grown from its roots in the Nordics/Baltics region to become one of Europe’s leading subscription and information services providers. LM currently has offices in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Holland and the UK and serves customers – including university and research libraries, hospitals and medical libraries, public libraries, governmental and non-governmental organizations and corporate information centers – in more than 20 different countries.  Learn more about LM Info here.

You can imagine the possibilities of our being able to leverage the synergies between Wolper and LM to deliver new and greater value in content acquisition and management. But we will delve into that territory with patience and discernment and without taking our focus off the day-to-day needs of existing customers and operations. I give you my word on that.

Thank you, as always, for choosing Wolper and for trusting us to service your subscription and information management needs. I’ve said this many times before but never meant it more: You can count on Wolper to fulfill your organization’s need for information resources and services, now and for years to come!

Sincerely,

Susan Wolper
President & CEO
